This car was at C&C yesterday and it sounded and looked incredible. I'm just having a tough time figuring out what it actually is other than being a Ferrari.

definitely a 288, but I can't tell you why it looks so different. It doesn't look like the Evo version but it's similar.

Found it, it's a 308-turned-288 racecar!

Looks like the current owner converted it back to a more streetable configuration.

That's what I'm wondering. When I first arrived I thought nothing of it. I didn't even take pictures of it b/c I thought it was a replica. But, once I heard it start up things changed. People started surrounding the car with all of them taking video of it like it was the real deal. I stumped.

You're right but it looks like a race-prepped 288 for the most part.

This is the car.

It's a 308GTB that spent some time as a race car. It no longer has the original engine, and currently has a race-prepped 3.2 Mondial V8.

The only "288" part of it is the body panels. It's awesome, but it's not a 288.
